As I recall, Paul’s tips are pretty good. As he implies, forget the “just surviving†attitude – a timetrial is a RACE. From my own past experience, the 100-mile scheduling he points up is about right, though maybe after you have had some experience of this distance. As a newcomer, perhaps allow a schedule about 6 - 8 minutes longer. Although recent novice George would perhaps disagree with such softie thoughts! But then, who’d be able follow his example?
