Just make themselves known at CSS to a friendly looking face and someone should point them at Monty / Alex to introduce themselves as a newcomer. When the groups are called they'll be off last I think with (normally) one, or both, of the gentleman Johns to lead them :D . Generally a few in this group I think so won't be on their tod.

That'll be John (the old'un) Lovell and John Czernobay - who you can tell by the 1000 watt smile

Also your Dad, Andrew! And if I'm out, I'll normally approach new riders especially as they tend to turn up on time unlike the rest of club...

By the way, anyone see what happened to the 'older' lady with the fold-up bike who was seen in the car park but didn't seem to make it back to CSS for the start?

Not quite sure what to make of that comment, John, but I realise that it looks like I have lumped you together with the club letches which I certainly did not intend!

I will now try to stop digging any further...

My comment was meant to be nothing more than a humorous riposte to your perspicacity Amy.
Or to put it another way, I cannot deny it.!!!!!

Phew... :D

I have to mention Gentleman Jim, a well retired cyclist, whom both a friend and I met on separate cycle tours. Ian met him first and they were riding side by side when they passed a couple of ladies sunbathing. The conversation did not stop as his head swivelled to keep the ladies in view until he could no longer see them

Btw I hadn't realised it before - but you do look like this 8)
