Surrey League Team Championships MOD Chertsey 11/9/04 3/4

Are you thinking about starting racing? Ask about future events in here, find out what you can expect at them and who else is going so you can scrounge a lift off someone rather than riding the 30 miles to get there yourself!

Anyone up for getting a ACC cat 3/4 team together to have a go at this race?

We would probably need a team of five as I think that is the minimum?

I go on holiday for two weeks from this Saturday but if enough interest I am happy to arrange entry etc before I go with Mr Tunnel's assistance.

Be a good race and showing for ACC.

Brian,
Yes, I'd be up for this - I rode it last year and it was good fun.

Rob,
If you're a 2nd cat then I suspect you'll have to try and convince John Sadler and Paul Tunnell to join you in the E/1/2 team race.

Or maybe you should just sell all your bikes and drown yourself in self pity.

Pick your dummy back up, get your butt down to some mid week races and start over.

It's too early for winter training, you'll be peaking round Christmas & i don't think there are many races then!!!!

sometimes i wonder about you Rob :D

Well if you can't/won't try and motivate your fellow 2nd cats then all that's left other than your option is to start convincing Keith Butler that you're rubbish!

Seeing as this topic hasn't exactly been swamped with responses I hope you're sucessful.

I am interested in being put down to join a team. I don't mind whether or not I race in the E,1,2 or the 3/4. Currently in 3rd cats but don't mind the challenge of kicking some higher class butt.

Cheers

Does anyone know who in the club is organising this as time is getting on and it is not clear whether or not we have one team let alone two.

Can someone let me know how many people we need and then if no one else wants to sort it I can get a team together with reserves hopefully and then sort out the entrance.

So far it seems as though we have:

Brian T
Marek
Rob (you may have to race with the 3/4)
Max
Richard M

I am sure there are plenty of others who are up for this so lets make sure we have a presence, considering we are such a large club we must be able to get enough riders.

I will email Surrey League and ask them how many we need and then sort out a team. All those above I will post details on this thread.

Cheers

S.East Team Championship Races
2.3.4.J.W 80km 10:00 £40 [£60.00]
Teams of 5 riders Surrey League Teams only.
E.1.2.3 100km 12:00 £40 [£60.00]
Teams of 5 riders South East region teams accepted
Melaine Price, 22 Picton Close, Camberley, Surrey GU15 1QT
http://www.surreyleague.co.uk

Have got the details so we need five riders, but I reckon we should line up at least 6 or 7 on the day just in case we have people drop out.

So any more of you guys who want the possibility of riding on the day then put your name down. Rob good news is that second cats can ride with the 3/4 so you are in.

If we get too many turn up on the day then we will decide on recent form, therefore what points have you got so far this season. Seems a fair way to decide. Although at the moment we have the five but it means we all need to turn up.

I will email Paul Tunnel and let him know our plans. Anyone who thinks they will not be able to make it from the list so far please let me know.

Cheers

Surrey League Team Champs

Postby mrP(Boonen)VT » Fri Aug 27, 2004 4:25 pm

Just to put you all in the picture, this is a Surrey League Event, therefore entries are via your club representative i.e. ME.
Do not send anything to Melanie Prince as she is not covering this event.
We need to decide teams for either event A or event B, and I have emailed all our RR for response, then will decide one way or another....now there's a discussion point.....who is in them.

I have registered a team in event A, but not yet for event B.

KB has also advised that riders may be able to form composite teams or ride as individuals depending on numbers. I strongly advise against turning up on the day as it is unlikely you will get in, plus KB wants an idea of numbers for catering etc.

Email me to both paul.tunnell@landg.com and mrpvt@hotmail.com as I don't get much chance to view the forum.
Thanks
Paul
