Public thanks to Mr D for a great ride on Saturday. After a quick latte in Sutton (oooh, how Continental) we set off through Cheam and Epsom to Dorking. Mr D promised me some hills to climb in preperation for MV - he didn't disappoint. Coldharbour - loooong and steep before a most pleasant ride out towards Abinger. A drag back through Dorking and onwards to Headley via A25 and up Pebble Hill - a cheeky little 16% gradient. A visit to Little Switzerland (or so I'm told) then up Box Hill to do battle with the wasp hordes armed only with the remains of a power bar and a date slice - we conceded gracious defeat. Homeward bound via Dauphin Cycles and the A217 - 90k for me in all - tired yet happy legs. On every incline I sucked Mr D's wheel - then I sucked the tarmac - then I simply sucked!! He's good at this climbing malarkey. I kept going somehow - an excellent ride which I'd thoroughly recommend for those looking for a bit of hilly effort and some tipperty top scenery.
