Sniff.
Ok I was trying to cure my creak at the weekend whilst cleaning and took the cranks/chainrings off, cleaned bottom bracket and so on....
On the plus side. Creak gone! woo hoo.
However.... After taking the chainrings off I could now see that there was a gouge in the carbon chainstay behind the chainring. Can't remember doing it but I guess I must have had a bad chainsuck at some point.
It looks like it's just torn into the top couple of layers of fibre and probably looks worse than it is, so I'm going to drop the bike around to Dauphins when I get a chance for a second opinion.
Has anyone else had this happen? Was it repairable? or just something to ignore?
Oh and why on earth don't they have a little plastic bash guard in there like on the top of the chainstay?
