Sarah H is missed

Postby Marky Mark » Mon Jun 02, 2008 1:33 pm

A kind gentleman had told us half way home on the CR Saturday 31st May that Sarah was in Hospital looking after her son who is not doing to well at the moment.

I'm sure all the thoughts and best wishes from the Agreeables go Sarah and her family.

I noticed that she had not been on the forum for ages, that was not like her at all and did make me wonder.

Hope to see you soon Sarah.

All the best, Marky Mark the tarmac kisser

A bunch of flowers smiley would be here for you if I had one

Yeah, I was trotting down to the pilates class what feels like AGES ago and bumped into her looking a bit stressed - she said she was just nipping home for some stuff then back to the hospital. I've been vaguely wondering from time to time how he was but never thought he'd still be in hospital. I live not far from her so will pop a card through the door tonight to say we're all thinking of her, in case she doesn't log on and see this.

Hello :D I am back online as of today :D I was about to post but saw this. :D Thanks guys. We have been in hospital 9 weeks (with 4 days home but then straight back in). Wills is OK now but things have been sticky to say the least. All very technical to bore you with but, in a nutshell, he has intestinal failure and his gut leaks into his blood stream. He has a hickman line in to feed him intravenous feed (he can't tolerate anything into his digestive system) and the bugs from his leaky gut keep on getting into the blood and then settling into the line causing sepsis. Things have come to a bit of a head now so we are waiting for an urgent assessment in Birmingham for a small bowel transplant.

I haven't been on the bike for 2 months :-( as my bike has been lonely in Croydon. I've not been running much either as I had a nasty chest infection and couldn't quite knock it on the head. I will be building it all up slowly and surely but have pulled out of all my events until September. The transplant assessment will be 2 weeks and Wills will probably be in hospital other than that too. It is all stop start so I will just do what I can to keep things ticking over, it isn't a priority at the moment.

I am looking forward to reading back to see what has been going on and getting out on the club run as soon as Paul is here on a Saturday morning. I do wonder what to do if we get listed for transplant though as sods law the call will come when I am at the longst point from home!!! May have to cycle in circles, never more than a few miles from home for a while. Ah well, jump that bridge when I come to it....

Oh my goodness! What a dreadful time for you.

Fingers X transplant assessment goes well and all that. Would be so nice for you to see a light at the end of what must feel like a very long tunnel at present!

Bikes and running and stuff will still be there when Wills is better.

Take care.

Sarah, hope it all goes well, I know how hard it can be going to and fro from hospital for a long period of time looking after the little uns. 9 weeks is a really tough deal, I hope it all goes well with the transplant.

Cheers

Sarah H? M? H? I knew who I meant, I think. Sorry for mixing the letters up

Thank you for your get well soon message  , I only have a couple of scratches compaired to what you have all been through.

It's good to hear from you again and best of luck for the assessment.

Oh, and 'Marky Mark the Tarmac Muncher' Sarah H is my old initial so you had me wondering if I had had a moment of regression when I registered :) I was going to say something but had to check to see what initial I had actually used.
