Riding L'Etape for Demelza

Postby Dombo » Mon Jun 09, 2008 2:13 pm

My Fellow Agreeables,
Some of you may know I have entered this year's Etape. Apparently the only Agreeable to do so this year as it seems to be an easy route (compared to Andrew's Grimpeurs' Challenge on Saturday!).

100 miles from Pau to Hautacam with the fearsome Tourmalet  to climb in the middle.

Some good should come of this mid-life madness so I am raising money for Demelza, a children's hospice based in Kent. Their website is here:

http://www.demelzahouse.org

Please help me raise as much as possible for them via my web page

http://www.justgiving.com/dominicbarnes

All money raised goes to them, I'm paying all trip expenses myself.

Many thanks and hope to see you all on the CR again soon :D

Hi Dombo - I was out with you on Saturday..

There are a couple more Agreeables on the Etape, step forward Del Coombs & Andy K !

They did the Highclere Castle sportive on Sunday and the Wessex 3 dayer recently as well as the Dartmoor Classic so they are getting plenty of hilly miles in which should serve them well...

send them a pm , maybe their accomodation / plans etc might tie up with your self ? or you can all scare yourself with Etape tales of old ?

cheers,
Brian Nolan

Hi Dombo.

Andy K and I are doing the Etape, as Brian says........ although he's decided to change my surname for me. It's Del Cobb :!:

If you drop either of us a PM, we can try and hook up. Not sure what hotel we are staying at as Andy has done the organisation, but we're travelling with French Cycling Holidays, who we used last year for the Raid Pyreneen.
