Greetings from Boulogne, Apologies for dodgy spelling but the keyboard characters don.t respond to the actual.

Good ride down from Dover. Through the lanes did 90 miles with fully loaded panniers in just over 5 hours 17.1mph and only rained from Hythe = last 20 miles.

Rode with the 40 plus yesterday so only slow but did 65 miles to the hostel with a good deal of sunshine qnd considerate motorists. :D

Bit overcast at the moment but due to clear up.

Off to breakfast to eat a much as you can  :D :D :D

I'm back.....

Weeks riding sure beats working.... :D

Monday - Croydon - Dover 90 miles with fully loaded panniers in just over 5 hours 17.1mph

Tuesday - Dover - Boulogne. Champagne buffet on the ferry - classy. Rode with 40+ group - 65 miles but average 12 mph

Wednesday Boulogne - Boulogne via Le Touquet, Berck, Hesdin, St Pol and Desvres. Out by myself. Really hot in the afternoon and exhausted on return, 96 miles. Couldn't manage those extra 4 :!:

Thursday Boulogne - Dover. With 40+ group. Great day with coffee stop on the beach at Wissant, huge lunch at Guines followed by a beer or 3 at Calais and tea on the boat. Just 45 miles but improved average of 12.8mph

Friday Dover - Croydon Stayed at B&B and had huge breakfast, then paid for it struggling along until reaching Rye. Average was just 15mph, but improved on the way home even with some big old climbs to 16.5mph for the 86 miles.

Saturday Day in Milan (by air)

Sunday Cambridge - Croydon. Awesome average - 20.1mph for first 3 hours (including getting a bit lost and heading towards Chelmsford  and single pannier - 12 hour pace!!) Dropped off through town, down to 18.8mph for the 78 miles.

Had to do justice to French beer for Jon....

and yes, B&B just up the road from the ferry as we arrived at 7:15pm and I didn't fancy riding home at that time. Enjoyed a good long ride home the next day.
