Strange how the new levers have

a. concealed cables......

b. a thumb shifter.....

Wonder where those ideas came from?

What next - electronic shifting - where have I heard that before???

Never mind, imitation is the sincerest form of flattery.

Are there any electricians in the club to be able to help out on a CR when someone has a problem with their gears?

Yeah Paul but have you seen the new Campag hoods - Bigger and uglier  . Don't look anywhere near as comfortable, and not particularly "ergo" :( .

As far as I know I have the latest Campag Record levers on my road bike. I think GBs called them Reds.?? Got them about 4 weeks ago.
They dont feel or look larger or uglier than the older ones.

Ah, that explains it. Cheers Sean. Certainly not interested in 11 speed.
The ones in your link DO look ugly.
What I have is certainly different in action. The front changer is now indexed which is great for adjusting the cage away from the chain.
Hope you have a safe flight back soon. See you on the CR.
Cheers.

Some say that the "Red" "limited edition" Campag shifters were a cynical way of selling off a mountain of 10 speed shifters quickly before 11 speed renders them obsolete - by changing a sticker and a spring

Like selling cars with special edition stickers on them, to clear those fields of Ford KAs in Essex!

Funny how Shimano don't have to come up with any gimmicks to get people to buy their stuff, they buy it because it is the best. (EDIT Matter of personal opinion)

Even Leipheimer used DA chainrings on his SRAM equiped bike in the TT yesterday. And at the Tour of Flanders I spotted many of the Astana bikes with FULL DA, despite being supplied by SRAM.

 no because it just gets chucked on any bike that comes ready built up. The "Value" option to Campag's "Taste the Difference" . Cultured and discerning components for those with a cultured and discerning palate :) .

Times are hard, they're never sure which races they'll get in to, got to use some of the old kit they've still got laying around the shed.
