Night Ride to Brighton

Postby mrP(Boonen)VT » Tue Jun 17, 2008 8:49 am

Anyone care to join me on Friday night, or rather Saturday morning for a potter to Brighton to see the sunrise :?:

There is a cafe to get some refreshments and see the sunrise over the sea.

Starting at 1:00am at Coulsdon South.

Mr  is joining me and on the way back, will be riding the Horsham 10

I guess it's a more direct route than normal Paul, due to being night an' all that. Oh and I'm glad you said potter (although I know there's the PVT relativity caveat in place on that word) as if you go at the pace you did on Sunday you'll kill me before we get to Horsham on the way down, not back. :D

Rest assured Andrew, it will not be a standard MrPVT run.......just a steady ride to enjoy being on the bike for a change.

it's unwarranted? heh.

So the weather forecast has now changed to a dark heavy rain cloud for friday. I guess we'll see nearer the weekend how it really is. :? I don't fancy a night time soaking.

If it's on, then I'll try and time my ride out from Oxted to link up on the way down rather than ride up into Coulsdon.

I agree, weather wise....however, it will be nearer Saturday's weather than Friday's.

I think they just look out of the window and guess. Saturday has a little white cloud and rain at the moment.
How long does the ride normally take?

So 1:30 at CSS then, not 1?

I'll be taking a waterproof anyway as It'll probably be the easiest way to stay warm on the way down, and light to carry home. Lights recharged last night, just got to work out how to recharge myself know :?

I started off with 1:30, then changed it to 1:00 so that it gives you a bit of a cushion for you to get to the 10.

Confirm 1:00 at CSS.

Back in time for the clubrun.....yeah right.

Actually I've got to get back to drive up to Cambridge to pick up Ian who's finished at his Uni with all his stuff (umpteem flights of stairs and big heavy bags designed just to help the legs recover after a long ride  )
