Wasn't sure how I would recover from Sunday's ride t Brighton and back, but turned out just fine....
First few laps with 3rd cat vets and I seemed to be at the front most of the time, especially on the "into the wind" section, and we soon caught the 4th cats and women, making a larger group so had a bit of an easier time, then 4 laps in (out of 12) the 2nd cats caught us, and very soon after, the scratch group and the pace went up but with a large field, pretty much stayed intact.
kept out of trouble on the last lap by riding near the front (Dave Kennett tried hard to get away but was reeled in every time) and went through a gap that another rider claimed wasn't there but I got through so guess it must have been and found myself near the front, opening up with 200m to go, I expected a surge down the right hand side, but it didn't happen, and I finished 4th in the bunch sprint (unfortunately 9 riders had sneaked off earlier so ended up 13th), and had really good strong legs at the end.
