[quote="-Adam-"]It seems the 3/4s like to ride into each other quite a bit. So I was forced onto the grass, and was practically in Penge by the time I could safely start to turn back towards the track. Put it this way, I still don't want to ride cross... ever. SO that left me with just one other rider, Chaz Hollosi of Gemini so together we rode the entire rest of the race alone, until the 3/4s caught us again  That said, on the hill we were just cruising and only going full gas through the corners. Which by the way, in the E12 race and on my two-up, was about 8km/h faster than the 3/4s. !
You've got to remember Adam there's quite a big difference in levels between 3/4 riders. In general the 3/4 guys who ride mostly in the top 15 positions ride the circuit well and are quick on the bends. However there are quite a few 4ths and less experienced 3rds who clearly don't have the fitness or technical ability yet to ride competitively on the circuit. Thats how it goes [quote="steve"]I guess As he was half way across, I made my mind up to see if I could do the same. This was the first time I'd ever felt strong enough to try something like this, so I gave it a go. Down the straight I jumped up the inside and sprinted ahead of the main group. Wide in to the hairpin and sh1t im going too fast . "Tyres please stick, please stick", and they did (Hal, Continental GP 4000's ).
So you're the one who brought the bunch back   Well done Steve good effort. Its a great feeling to ride away from the bunch but if you don't stay away you ultimately pay for that effort. No ACC in the top ten we've got to change that next week guys :D

aye, indeed, Adam, me young lad, some in the 3/4 could easily have been racing since you were in nappies (there's a nice picture!) and might have previously been in the higher cats. Then again many are not, as Toks says, its quite a mixed bunch.

haha, I did notice Toks bash into a rider as he crested the hill once, so steer clear of him! and Hal crashes, better keep away from those ACC boys.

Experience, bike handling, race craft, age, ability. All are irrelevant when one rider coming through shouts "Stay left!", and another simultaneously shouts "On your left!". And then both give you a volley of abuse for not getting out their way  .

Happens more often than you'd like to think it would. Next time maybe I should grab a low branch and swing up above them.

Worth remembering too that the bulk of the money comes from the 3/4s and that that's where everyone starts out - kick 'em out the way and you have no racing due to lack of funds and no progression. There's also plenty of 2nd cats with a damn site less skill and experience than many 3rds.

Sounds like it was a bit of a one-off as Palace is normally very safe and has a decent standard of rider thoughout. They don't seem to be using the haipin cut-off so much this season though to keep the groups as seperate which always worked very well.

[quote]Susie from Dynamo who technically had right of was as she was on her final lap.

Sounds just like when the E/1/2s gave Hal and Mike a load of agro for not "getting out their way" when Hal and Mike were the leaders in a breakaway, and on their final lap.

maybe they should just get rid of the E/1/2 race, at this level they should all be out doing proper RRs or in chain gangs training on the roads, or other necessities like bike cleaning and leg waxing.

Well I was going to say maybe they ought not to have both races on at the same time, or at least limit the fields?

And yes, why the hell aren't they using the cut thru to avoid the groups meeting??

35/40 E/1/2s and 70 3/4s on a 1km track is just too dangerous in my opinion, on that circuit anyway. Hillingdon? Fine, but not at Palace. But yes Kieran, your right, the E/1/2s have bigger fish to fry, but an E/1/2 win at Palace is still a very respectable win.

Oh and the guys who were racing when I was in nappies Kieran, perhaps they ought to retire, bless 'em :? (although there are a few a that age who would still kick my ass  )
