Marshals request - Beastway 16th July

Postby Grahame » Wed Jun 18, 2008 7:36 pm

Dear all,

We are promoting a round of Beastway again this year. It will be Wednesday 16th July, at Hainault Forest Country Park, which is here.

We need to provide 9 marshals to run a safe event. Marshals should be there no later than 7pm. The race starts at 7:30pm (and is entertaining to watch), and finishes by 8:30pm. We then need to take the course down. We should be away by 9:30pm when the organisers will invite us to the pub.

If you could afford to take 1/2 a day off work to get to the venue for 3pm to help mark out the course (and bags the best marshalling duties) that would be great. It's a good one for the road racers and testers to use to "clear" their duty 'cos it doesn't clash with any road races ot TTs that I'm aware of.

Please let Snoops know by either pm, email, or a message here if you can help.

Cheers,

Grahame

Will be riding this, unless it's chucking it down, but can get there early and help out with some of the setting up. Won't be able to get there for 3 but 4 is more likely. I'll be driving so can take one person if they need a lift.

I too can take a half day off work and help out with building the course.

I'll be driving, and can offer a lift back to Croydon.

Looking at the forecast it says rain on Wednesday. If that's the case I won't race as I don't fancy mud-plugging so I won't be able to help set up the course I'm afraid.

Hi G

How you doing?
Been really flat out at work in Farnham miles away. Been doing some TT work at home to keep on the bike in the evenings.

Will be there on 16th to help. Will try and get a couple of skins as well. (Building labourers).

See you soon.

Oops, I was looking at tomorrow  . Had intended to ride tomorrow as well but the weather's looking a bit iffy so think I'll save my half day holiday.
