Palace 24.06.08: Race Plan

Are you thinking about starting racing? Ask about future events in here, find out what you can expect at them and who else is going so you can scrounge a lift off someone rather than riding the 30 miles to get there yourself!

Palace 24.06.08: Race Plan

Postby Toks » Mon Jun 23, 2008 2:10 pm

Fellas, how do you feel about having a race plan for tomorrow? - hopefully it will ensure we get a Podium spot or two or a indeed a few of us in the top ten places at least. I don't want to put pressure on anyone, its hard enough just to have a go at Palace so nobody should feel obliged to ride under instructions. I just think we need to race smartly and most importantly get a win - we haven't done that yet  . So lets talk at Palace tomorrow at 6.55pm

Toks, I suggest you make a break on lap 5 and then solo to a stylish victory.

You may well be bang on the money there Andrew. It probably needs to be done before the E12 roadshow rolls through and the whole race is neutralised

Who is planning to race apart from Toks?
My plan A is to come and take photos so the more ACC the better
My plan B, if I can leave on time, would be to race, even though I don't really feel fit for it right now. Good if George Stu and Adam are there to keep me company, but they will prob be at the TT?

me too!! My plan is to draft Toks and Hal, (if Wal was around that would help too) get in a break away with them, do no work, and then sprint from under their wheels and snatch victory from them at the last moment!

My visualisation techniques are coming on quite well!

Sylv, What happened to "Patron choufflard is burnt out and taking a wee break from racing and training" ?

I'll be there this evening though whether or not I'll be anywhere near the front of the bunch is anyone's guess :?

Sorry I haven't been around at Palace in recent weeks to assist in an Addiscombe triumph in the 3/4s.

No sooner did my injuries sustained in my high-speed spill a few weeks back sufficiently heal that I could ride a bike than I came down with a cold, from which I'm only just now recovering.

Hope to be back commuting by the end of this week, and competing at Palace again next week or the week after. I'd also like to do the club ride to Brighton this weekend, although I have several DIY duties threatening to thwart my plans...

Well entering a national mtb event two weeks ago, where about half of the people are fitter than you on a good day, whilst feeling as rubbish as I ever have fitness-wise was probably what did it,
In the end I didn't even race the main event thanks to slashing my tire on my warmup lap - and I was somehow relieved about it. At the time I was actually asking myself what the point in racing was
Last couple days been feeling much better on the bike, and as importantly am looking forward to racing tonight
See you there - I wonder if I'm allowed to lead you out for the sprint if I get dropped of my race - now there's a plan
