LEJOG in 7 Days - Anyone up for it?

Postby Scott » Mon Jun 30, 2008 9:59 am

Hi Guys,

7 days will be hard but that's why I want to do it!!!!! Now this may be a bit of a mission but I'm sure it can be done and no doubt there are ACC'rs that have already ticked this one off(current record 44hrs 4mins!!!!!!! :D ) Not sure if I will do this before the year is out or schedule in for next year but it has to be done regardless. If anyone has a route, tips etc and if you want to do it with me let me know. I dont want to be carrying and will need to recruit a driver to support.

Are you brave enough to take on this challenge?

Cheers
Scott

Scott,
I was planning to do it in 6 days, but I'm not bargaining, like name that tune, so 7 would be fine, but cannot fit it in this year, so will be sometime between end July /end August next year (school holidays).

You are right, it has to be done.

I have got time off between 23rd Aug and 7th Sept and could be persuaded to do it then.

No can do those dates, sons b'day and a friends wedding in the mix. Hoping to bag the Picardy ride second weekend in Sept so need to look at dates after this.

Hi guys sorry new guy here again, Im doing LEJOG in 14 days with some others, during training we came across some guy at Newlands Corner who told us that the record was 1 day 19 hours, strangely about a week later we met someone else who told us the same thing, and they ran out of Imber Court sports club. The current record was set by Gethin Butler in 2001...
The official Road Records Association record for rider on a conventional bicycle is 44 hours, 4 minutes and 20 seconds, set by Gethin Butler in 2001.

BUT,
The record for cycling from Land's End to John o' Groats is held by Andy Wilkinson, who completed the journey in 41 hours, 4 minutes and 22 seconds on a Windcheetah recumbent tricycle

and how about this...
The record time for a runner to complete the route, as reported by the Lands End John O'Groats Club, is 9 days and 2 hours, by Andi Rivett.
