12 hour TT entries.

Are you thinking about starting racing? Ask about future events in here, find out what you can expect at them and who else is going so you can scrounge a lift off someone rather than riding the 30 miles to get there yourself!

12 hour TT entries.

Postby Dominic » Thu Jun 26, 2008 4:56 pm

Prompted by a conversation with Mr PVT during the night ride to Brighton, a reminder that for those in the club wishing to do the National 12 hour, the closing date for the entries is 22/07/08.

Ivor,
Is that

(1) mad for entering early, OR

(2) mad for contemplating riding a 12 hour :?:

In the case of (1), not at all, to make sure I get in, and (2) you're quite right.

You're quite right of course. who in their right mind would consider riding a bike quickly for 12 hours :?:

Answers on a postcard to....

I never used to like doing them at all and avoided them for the first few years of racing like the plague, but Somehow though, it gets strangely addictive in a massochistic sort of way, and once you've got over the stupid idea in the first place and done one, you say "never again", then you find yourself filling in another entry form (guess there's a parallel here with women and childbirth - on second thoughts better not go there) and training even harder to do more miles than you did last time.

I must beat 240, then I'll stop the insanity.

I've bottled it  Seriously the SCCU bar is my main goal this year and though I was tempted by this, I removed the shall I shan't I stuff that was bothering me by holidaying instead. Y'see - occasionally I has a moment of good sense.

Thanks Andrew, I will try and do the SCCU too (that's on 27 July right?)

I still haven't got tri-extensions. The ones I ordered looked on the website like they included the bars, but for £80 you just got the alloy extensions so I cancelled it.

I will try and get some on ebay, I need alloy bars to go with them as my carbon ergonomics don't allow to fit any. It's a right faff swapping road bars and I am not looking forward to it.
