ACC Norwood Paragon Interclub TT 08/07/08

Are you thinking about starting racing? Ask about future events in here, find out what you can expect at them and who else is going so you can scrounge a lift off someone rather than riding the 30 miles to get there yourself!

I'm not sure how long it will take to ride there, but could be 6.45pm @ Butlers or 7pm @ CSS.

Friday is good but can do other days

I intend to reaquaint myself with the course on Saturday morning  , anyone want to join me? Meet at the feathers, 8.30, ride the course then on to Charlwood, possibly getting to the cafe before the rush. 8)

That's an idea, I drove there last year but think it was quite a long trek (ie hard to get back in daylight in an evening)

I'd have thought the circuit suits people who do ride at Crystal Palace. This event is only once a year, far more important and palace can be ridden the week after etc

I'd have to concur that riding the Interclub TT should both be more fun and more important than riding at Palace. After all, Palace can be done at least a dozen times each season - so its not such a sacrifice to have to make. Bletchingley is not that far away from Croydon either. Paragon have positively thrashed ACC in recent years on this circuit. However, this year I think our "middle order" is stronger than ever. If the Paragon are a little bit below full strength, then there could be a long overdue ACC victory....

Does anybody know i Jim Burdett is a 2nd claim Addiscombe member? He would be another good rider to have on board.

Paul H where are you? You could give that new TT bike a good thrash and I'd like to talk triathlon with you as well

I'm not sure that 2nd claimers can count in the competition. Need someone like guru Paul needs to advise.

I for one will definitely not be riding, but that's no loss - I'm way too unfit at the moment. Tried it last year when unfit and did a dreadful time. I'm sure I could have stopped, made a cup of tea, eaten a whole packet of biscuits and still finished in a faster time when I was fitter. I can't take the shame of being that slow again (plus I haven't renewed my membership yet for 2008!).

I'm not much of a TTer - but basic aero kit - bars and pointy hats - will be a definite benefit on the course. Just take care on the fast turns (especially on the return leg) if you try and ride them in an aero position. Not sure that heavy disc wheels, etc. would be much help. Basically just ride whatever you would ride on a sporting TT course and go quickly!

Are there still spaces available on this? I might be keen to have another go (did it in '06).

I'm fairly sure Jim is a 2nd claimer but it's 1st claim only counting for the "team".

Glossing over the fact, you've been sent to Coventry. I'd have thought, using your transport/logistical skills you'd easily make it back in time, for a start towards the end of the field ?
