Oh No,

Just as we are about to get rid of Daren (mountain goat), Rory comes back. All routes now have to be done over very flat terrain as I cannot get up the hills quick enough to keep up with Rory.

Rory, if you go for this chaingang can you let me know what it was like and the route they take, I may join you in a couple of weeks for this if it comes down to Coulsdon area.

Cheers

Marek, have no fear - I'm doing the off next week. I'm moving up to the lakes a week on saturday. Still looking for work but my girlfriend is doing teacher training so she'll be able to support me whilst I go bikin ;)
I'm going to try and get out on the club run on saturday - depending on hangover and weather.

Hopefully I'll find an equally agreeable cycling club up north.

I wouldn't recommend this chain gang for anyone that hasn't done a bit of racing, It's damn fast!!!! To give you an indication of how fast, Brian Taylor and I were droped one night up Poll Hill. We usually regroup at the top but put it back into top gear all the way to West Wickham.
I used this CG to get my top end up to scratch.. and it worked.

This sounds like my cup of tea, when I get back from Hols I will be well up for this. Where abouts do they meet?

Cheers

[quote="marco"]according to oldportlianscc.co.uk

Chain Gang - We meet every Tuesday and Thursday evening outside the Swan Pub in West Wickham for 7.15pm and meet up with members from other clubs for a very high intensity burn up for 1.5 hrs. This is not recommended for beginners!

Across the road from the Swan there's a little square & a public toilet, this is where they meet. Regulars include Brian Taylor, Nigel Ling, Collette Swift & A few VC Prestige guys that are very, very fast (oh, and myself). Be warned, if these guys turn up..... you will get dropped!
