Day out - Boulogne 25 August

Postby mrP(Boonen)VT » Thu Jul 10, 2008 4:00 pm

Hi all,
I have been making some enquiries as I have just heard that Speedferries will take bicycles (after my initial trip 2 years ago!!), and have capacity for 10, maybe 12 at a push.

We would take a day's ride from Boulogne, returning to Boulogne (recce for Croydon-Paris later!!)

If you are interested, please reply ASAP and I'll give you further details.

Interested of Selsdon. Sounds great, provided I've recovered.

Im interested in this as it gets me out of going to a wedding that weekend. How does it work? Whats involved? Do I need to tell my mum I'll be late back for tea? :D

I'd be up for this although it depends if I could get a lift by a kind aggreeable to the ferry and secondly that I dont spend the crossing throwing up!!

Ant -

Early start - drive to Dover avec bicyclette, then ride on the ferry.

Whizz down to Boulogne (about an hour)

Pleasant ride through rolling French countryside.

Stop for lunch.

Back to Boulogne (maybe a few beers  ) and a bite to eat, then to Dover and drive home.

The car park can be pre-booked (£5 all day last year) or you can take a chance on the local streets (about 5 minute ride).

Paul - I can give you a lift if you want.

Alan, may not be enough for an A and a B group, but it's not an eyeballs out sort of day.
