While I was on my home yesterday, I encountered:
1. A taxi driver that told me to go forth and multiply becasue I was in his way at the advance bicycle stop area (green tarmac with a little bicycle image in it) and didn't move off quickly enough when the lights changed. I would also point out that he was almost covering said advance stop box.
The moral of this is that taxi drivers want cyclists to ride through red lights so as not to hold them up when the lights change
2. A pedestrian who was crossing the road against a RED pedestrian light, and a GREEN light for the way I was going, who told me i no uncertain terms that I shouldn't be on the road.
The moral of this is that pedestrians want us all to ride on the pavement
and finally
3. A bus driver explained that cycle lanes were now compulsory - it says so on the Highway Code
So there you have it.
