I personally think the whoe web site needs re doing.
It looks outdated and rather flat looking.

Since ACC has such a high profile, I would think that the web site would be the first port of call for anyone thinking of coming out on a club run. I don't think it creates a good impression when most of the articles on the site are a couple of years old. It looks like the club is on the decline, or something.

I think the web site should have as it's emphasis, attracting newcomers with photos, stories and details of the club runs and also as an ancillary function, to update people as to what's been happening recently in the club. So many interesting things happen in the club yet none of it makes it's way on to the web site, which is strange.

There was the recent club run to Brighton, the evening 10's ( a great fun way to get people into racing), the photo shoot with Cycling Plus a year or so ago, trips to France ,training camps , races at Crystal Palace etc etc .
All this would be really interesting reading for a newcomer .Add a few photos and the whole site would come to life.

IMO, most cycling web sites are, from a design point of view, some of the worst web sites I've ever browsed to. ACC really could make a positive impact by getting a decent site up and running.

In short,I think the web site needs to be redesigned, updated frequently amd made more interactive.

Just my 2 cents woth :)

Simon: sounds like you could make a start by writing up an article or two?

Marco: I am happy for you to use any Gazette article. Let me know which ones and I will export text, maybe html if I can work out how...

If you're really desperate, I could write up J4F ride on Saturday - that is if my cold clears up :?

If so, wouldn't be anything fancy. And by fancy I mean humorous.

OH, and - if it helps - I am literate

I'm showing some photos of cycle race graffiti in a mini exhibition at a design conference in a couple of weeks' time. I could write up a bit of text to go with the pix and you'd have a colourful photo-essay.

OK Marco, I've written up the J4F ride and am e-mailing it to you as I type.

Maybe it's too long long, too rambling etc... but anyway, it's done.

I'm going to do a short write up about Ventoux, unfortunately things have been a bit full-on for the last month. Will sort it out soon.

i know were not a road racing club, but seen as monty claims he doesnt check this, i shouldnt get in trouble!

any chance of a racing page dedicated to the guys who fly the flag on a non social hardcore side of things?

just about updated results, maybe a paragraph report on each race, a few pictures of those who cant stay on their bikes etc etc.

we only ever advertise as a social club, maybe if we expand our title we could draw in an extra 1 or 2 serious racer types from around to help really boost the addiscombe results around town,

just a thought.

P.S, i started up brighton uni cycle club, how do i go about forming a website? any tips of cheap places?
