Ricco got caught so obviously needed to practice a bit more; "Practice makes perfect" as the saying goes.

Piepolli's been at it a bit longer, so has had enough practice to get it right.

Allegedly.

From the BBC

"(Team manager) Mauro Gianetti has lost faith in them and decided to fire them from the team," said Saunier Duval spokesman David Garcia.
"(Gianetti) did a personal investigation and consequently lost faith in Ricco but also in Piepoli because of a violation of the team's ethics code," a statement said.
"As a result, Mauro Gianetti immediately fired these two riders."

Should i read it as follows ??

"Lost faith" = they got caught
"personal investigation" = my job or theirs, somebody has to carry the can
"also in Pieopoli" = dealer or person with the contacts ???

It has been noted that Saunier-Duval manufacture boilers (a boiler = chaudière = a doped rider in Peloton slang).
