Cardiff 100 Miles RCC 25 - 19th July

Enjoyed last year's event so much I returned to the land of my fathers for another go this year.

Weather was bright, dry and reasonably warm for a change but with a fairly stiff cross wind though not as bad as it had been during the day (this is an evening event with me off at 6:02 pm). This is a very nice course (R25/7) with mostly smooth dual carriageway and the nervous can always freewheel down the bendy hill at the start as I do (still managed 38 mph). Had a trouble free ride apart from being held up slightly by a tractor and trailer just before the finish (I had to overtake it in the end). Despite the wind and tractor, a combination of current good form and fast course allowed me to squeeze out another PB with 57:17 :D , a best by just two seconds this time.

I think this is the only event on this course in the year but it is certainly worth a try if you happen to be in South Wales at the right time.

steve, did you forget a digit in that time somewhere, otherwise a time of 57:17 for a 100miler is very impressive!!!

A 25 mile TT promoted by "Cardiff 100 Miles Road Cycling Club" Kieran, don't know why they're called that though.

A short 57 is damn impressive for a 25 though, well done Steve.
