URGENT - lift required to ToBM!!

Postby Amy » Tue Jul 22, 2008 9:14 am

I've been let down  - please could someone give me a lift to Llanvihangel on Friday (anytime - I've taken the day off) and back on Sunday?

Please let me know asap as I need to confirm that I'm going. Could be different people Friday and Sun... Of course, I'd rather it was Huw but he's got some chest lurgy and doesn't even want to see people doing the ride

Work tel is 020 7090 4060 (direct)

i might be able to offer you a lift Amy ... but it depends if my good bike is ready or not... getting it changed from a 9 speed Ultegra triple to 10 speed 105 compact .. Only snag is it has been with Bromley Bike Co for the last 3 weeks :( they say they are having trouble getting 105 groupsets from the importer ?
so if I do not get my bike by Thursday I will not be going as I do not fancy doing that course on my heavy Trek ....
if i do get the bike I will be leaving carshalton on Friday mid day ish for Wales , could fit another bike in if you take the wheels off.. I will check here and post tomorrow ....

OK, thanks everyone - I hope I still have a place to sleep at Lower Stanton Farm (just down from the Skirrid Arms and the start/finish). I live at Hackbridge (junction of London Road and Clover Way) but could make it to some other more convenient place for a lift. Please decide among yourselves who would be the most appropriate and give me a call on my work number above (leave a message if I'm not around and I'll call back).

thanks again.

well I will not be going to Wales for this ride as Bromley Bike co cannot finish my bike ..... :( they have only the shifters in and cannot make up the groupset with other parts.. They said I could pick the bike up and bring it back after the event but how can i finish the course if I can't change gear

so that is one less ACC er heading off to the Black Mountains ....

Won't Bromley Bike Co lend you a bike with a compact? They must be able to help out, they got a good selection...

I was thinking that if Brian rode his heavy bike, I might be able to keep up and have someone to ride round with!

Amy, just a thought - I'm also staying at Lwr Stanton Farm and while I don't have any room in the car for you (and we're stopping on the way there and back anyway, not counting unscheduled baby feed/nappy-changing stops) I could probably get your bike on the back of the car if you were stuck.

Amy,
Not sure if you got my voice mail but I don't think I'll have the space what with the kids, wife, camping gear and bikes.

Guys, can someone else help out here.

Thanks in advance.
