Shanaze Reade

Articlein the Times today - only one factual inaccuracy that I saw (no womens team sprint in the Olympics).

Also she was one of the 3 people they featured in the Olympic Dreams programme on BBC1 last night. Worth a trip to the iPlayer if you missed it. In one shot they show her side on rollers at the track, the speed she builds up to and spins her legs at is simply stunning - they are literally a blur!

Excellent programme on Shaz last night.

Amazing leg speed on the rollers, and they were proper rollers, not these turbo thingies that you can't fall off of.

Did you see the weights she was jump squatting as well??? awesome leg strength.

In a BMX world champs style field, she started off so quickly that she was 4 bike lengths ahead by the first corner or berm or whatever term it is.

Bring back some Gold Shaz :P

I got back from the ACC 10 to see this and find out where I went wrong (too old, not fit enough, don't pedal anything like fast enough) .

It's a pity though that the programme kept cutting away from the cycling to see some chap having a hard time with his dancing horse and a bunch of fruity rowers.

The coach said something about the same initial explosive force of an F1 car didn't he? If I remember correctly she was squatting 30 odd stone!!!

Yeah a bit annoying, I was keeping my fingers crossed at the start for 20 mins of Reade and then I could turn over. I think the fella with the dancing horse won the fruity award comfortably - some amusing bits with him when he was in full camp.

Sounds interesting

Can't find the prog on iPlayer - maybe it's not up yet

See she's "doing a Pendleton" with the girly pictures on her website!
