Crawley Wheelers 10

Postby John the old'un » Sat Jul 26, 2008 10:42 am

Just 3 Agreeables on the start sheet today.
According to the results board:-
Tamar. DNS. Saving herself for tomorrow's 100. !!
Fred Schwarz 31:34
John L 27:09

A good fast morning with nil wind and not cold for my stupidly early start at 06:28.
Felt like I wasn't going really well apart from the last three miles.
A bit disappointed not to do a 26, but it was still a course pb by 49 seconds.
I had hoped to meet Fred but our paths didn't seem to cross.

Nice one John. V good chunk off your course pb.

I hauled myself out of bed at 5.30, but legs felt heavy, achy and utterly feeble and my back hurt, so I returned to bed and hope I feel livelier tomorrow.

Sorry I missed you John. I must have been still half asleep on the way to the HQ, because I went to the Sport Centre instead of the VH. By the time I got my number I knew that I would miss my start, especially with the HQ being so far from the start. When I finally got there I luckily only waited a couple of minutes for a DNS- but 10 mins added to my time. It was nice weather, and I enjoyed the ride, just a pity I missed my start. It would have been close to my PB- my actual time was (minus the 10mins lateness fee) 21:34. (Good thing the Presidents 10 starts at a more reasonable time!)

Sorry to read about your late start Fred.
I thought something must have happened when I saw the time they posted for you.
Glad it wasn't a puncture or worse still an "off".
Your true time would have got you in the top 10.
Hope to see later during the season.
Cheers.
