Earlier post Paul, I have a 10.

Not having a go about the course info etc really as I appreciate how much of a nightmare it is to administer, and also the issue concerning handbook sales - personally I think people would still buy them so sales wouldn't get hugely knocked and you could increase average race price from £7 to £7.50 to cover it too.

Are you really going to drive up in the morning Sylv? I'm looking at going for a B&B as it'd be say a 2hr drive. With a start time of 5:20am it would be a nightmare way to start the day just before a 12hr, like something out of Endurance.

It's very easy and quick to get to that area early on a Sunday morning. Up to the Blackwall tunnel, A12, M11 and you're there. Hour and a quarter from where I live, maybe an hour and a half for you. Even if you stay in a B&B you're going to be getting up at stupid o'clock, and you stand a better chance of getting a good night's sleep if you're in your own bed rather than an unfamiliar B&B.

Cheers Jon, although I'm not sure you can count it as "a good night's sleep" if you have to be there and ready to start at 5.20  .

I think Jon might has a point. the other week I rode a 100 up there my start time was 5.05am I got up there in plenty of time, well too early as I got stopped for suspicious driving at 4am around the hq and start area by the rozzers who were bored.

A travel inn would only alow you say 1 hour extra in bed and you've got the added worry of bike security in the vehicle and no porrige, toast and coffee etc.

I think I'm just gonna get my head down well early instead.

So just drink a bottle of red wine (it's good for the heart) at lunchtime the day before to get a good sleep in first, gotcha.

Just wanted to check you knew that next month it is a 12 hour time trial, not a 12 mile one.

I wouldn't bother with the hassle of fitting new bars and extensions for 12 miles
