[quote="mrP(Boonen)VT"]My funniest moment was once coming to a halt at some traffic lights, reaching for the "Keep Left" island bollard to save unclipping, holding onto it, at which point I became acutely aware that it was not attached to the ground, gracefully sliding over, landing in a heap on top of the bollard

Good luck.

Remember, the first time is the worst, it only ever gets easier.

  yes those small bollards which light up next to zebra crossings are always can be very wobbly - I've had a few dicey moments whilst leaning on them because I haven't wanted to clip out

I've had a couple of good ones when I was new to them.

After having just started using them I stopped at the lights and held the bollard to avoid unclipping, lights went green and off I pushed. Pushed a bit too hard to the right though and just shoved myself on the floor as I keeled over slowly in front of all the traffic  .

2nd one was on my first reliability ride with a load of Addiscombe. I had unclipped the left pedal and was standing there as we were trying to work out where we were supposed to be going. I went to pass the instructions to my right but the person was a bit further away than I thought. Result unbalanced and keeling over gracelessly in front of everyone  .

I'd like to nominate John Avery for inclusion into the 'how to fall over and look a complete arse' competion.

He did a cracker today, just talking to him as we were waiting to turn around to go back and find the rest of our missing group and he just fell over sideways onto the grass verge. Classic comedy moment as we'd just been talking about him falling off.

oh and Steve, any chance of a repeat performance this sat as I missed it.
