Show me the alps!!

My wife has booked me and the kids a chalet in the Alps (nr Morzine I believe) in two weeks time and I'm planning to drive over there.
What's more I should be able to take the bikes over and get some hills in (yeah quality family time I know)

So I am hoping someone can help here with advice on the following two points.

1) Route/stop offs
Get the ferry over to Calais and take the e15/e17 down to Reims and possibly stop the night. Then onto Dijon before Geneve and follow local roads to Morzine.

2) Local routes and any places of interest I should be visiting.

Don't waste precious holiday time with stop-offs. If there's two of you then share the driving and just plough on through the night. It's only about 8-9hrs from Calais to Bourg d'Oisans which is further south than Morzine...and you both get half a night's sleep which is fine.

Get a late ferry and drive through the night with no whinging from back seat (drug the kids if necessary). Arrive Morzine early to mid-morning ready to head out on bike. Perfect.

If you both get too tired to drive then stop off at one of the regular 'Aires' on the French m'way and grab a couple of hrs kip until one of you is OK to go again.

I've done this a couple of times now (albeit without kids) and it's a good way to get there with maximum holiday intact.

Have driven to the Alps every year since 1992. Got back from there 2 weeks ago.
Easy Peasy.
Dover Calais.
Motorway south as you say. Round Reims,
Dijon,
Turn off towards Geneva,
Head towards Chamonix.
Then you're in there amongst those beautiful mountains.
Enjoy.
