Palace cancelled

Are you thinking about starting racing? Ask about future events in here, find out what you can expect at them and who else is going so you can scrounge a lift off someone rather than riding the 30 miles to get there yourself!

Palace cancelled

Damn, for the first time this year I had really good legs tonight

Cancelled at last minute due to slippy bottom corner (some Youths went off course we heard)

Use some of the entrance money to send a road sweeper round it.

I have a little patio cleaner water spray thing they can borrow :D

What are the start times for Hillingdon for Tuesdays? Also, is there still a 3/4 race there every Saturday?

Cheers

I crashed at Palace!

But I was on my own ... and not racing

Turned up on the way back from work, on the off-chance it might be on, commissaires were in the car park telling people it wasn't. I thought I'd do a lap to see how bad it was in the wet .. what a tool

Top was drying up but the covered area down the bottom was fully wet, and super slimy with lots of stuff fallen down from the trees - it was a lot worse than I've seen it in previous times when it was cancelled. Had to take it mega easy into the sweeping bend, then second bend onto the climb .... whooooosh I was down sideways before I knew it, slipping for a few metres into the grass - absolutely treacherous.

Amazingly no damage to bike, just the STI displaced, but have nice big graze on thigh and elbow, shorts not looking so good. First time I went down for ages, it felt weird.

At least this might have served to prove there is just no sense in holding the race in the wet ... DUMBASS!

and I thought you were a sensible chap Sylv  .

Yep it's the stuff off the trees that when even mildly damp is like ice. Hope you've got a nice big tube of savlon at home.

I was well up for racing at the palace tonight but took the sensible choice and raced instead down at Dunsfold Aerodrome :D 8)

Sorry to hear about the stack Sylv.

No such problems over at Hillingdon.......... managed a full race this time in the 4ths with the bunch. Got nudged off course for the final sprint and ended up at the back of the pack.

Disappointed as I should've done better but I guess I did too much work at the start of the race and didn't leave enough for that all important final dig up the drag to the finish line. What was surprising was the pace dipped considerably at times and there were NO breaks. Tired legs I guess.

Cool Ed - bet you wished you were still on that cx bike in the sprint.

I'm glad the 12h is not this coming weekend, my upper arm is very very sore and I am limping quite a bit.

Hi Sylv, so you were the tool  who the organisers were referring to when I turned up last night! Pity it was cancelled, my last 3 weeks at Palace:

Puncture

Cancelled!

Bottom bracket was noisey as hell on the way there, may need to look at it anyway. Did an hour around sydenham hill road instead a bit later. I managed to cramp during my training as well!
