Bec hill climb

Are you thinking about starting racing? Ask about future events in here, find out what you can expect at them and who else is going so you can scrounge a lift off someone rather than riding the 30 miles to get there yourself!

Eager beaver Carl  , it's not until 12th October.

Not got the handbook with me but you don't need to get your entry in until about a fortnight before. Standard CTT entry form plus fill in the second/reverse page - the Hill Climb section  .

It's a TT so has 120 places, there aren't that many nutters who want to race up White Hill  .

When's the Duathlon? Oh and I'll try and remember to bring the map in to work to scan it for you so you actually have it before you go.

Bec CC Hill Climb

CTT entry form as per link in "Info & Links" post, remember you need to fill in both sides.

Date: 12th October 2008
Location: White Hill (course GH/31)
Entry: £6.50
First rider: 14:00
Cheque payable to: Bec CC
Send to: G Beckett, 5 Archer Road, South Norwood, London, SE25 4JN.
Aim to get to Gary about 2 weeks before the date of the event. Last year he was sending out event updates in the build up to it, good fun and entertaining reading, they really build it up. A classic race.

Paul mentioned this in France. The smallest gear that tandem has is enough to put most people off (48 inner ring if I remember  ). Oh and you'd be climbing seated on it. :D

I would hope to get something smaller on the chainring and a sizeable cog

and with a bit of practice it is possible to climb out of the saddle

The Bec along with the Catford (my father and uncle rode the latter in 1910) were among the best supported last year. Why not enter the Wigmore CC 33rd Annual Open Hill Climb on the 5th October as a warm up. It is another event that usually gets good support. See separate thread for details.

Statistics for 2007.
