I crashed at Palace!
But I was on my own ... and not racing
Turned up on the way back from work, on the off-chance it might be on, commissaires were in the car park telling people it wasn't. I thought I'd do a lap to see how bad it was in the wet .. what a tool
Top was drying up but the covered area down the bottom was fully wet, and super slimy with lots of stuff fallen down from the trees - it was a lot worse than I've seen it in previous times when it was cancelled. Had to take it mega easy into the sweeping bend, then second bend onto the climb .... whooooosh I was down sideways before I knew it, slipping for a few metres into the grass - absolutely treacherous.
Amazingly no damage to bike, just the STI displaced, but have nice big graze on thigh and elbow, shorts not looking so good. First time I went down for ages, it felt weird.
At least this might have served to prove there is just no sense in holding the race in the wet ... DUMBASS!
