Bib longs

Postby simonfrench » Tue Oct 12, 2004 3:09 pm

I'm happy with Bib shorts - the best I've tried being Endura FS260 which just beat my Lusso coolmax thingies (Haven't tried Assos....perhaps this is a good thing) - but it's getting cold and I want something longer.

Any advice? Who likes what to keep the knees warm when it's cold and pissing down?

Cheers

I buy long tights from probikekit.co.uk I prefer without the chamois as you can wear short under or over whichever you prefer. They are pretty cheap and keep you warm, about £20.

They do a really thick tight as well for the depths of winter, these things are like a wet suit thickness so only go for this if you really suffer from the cold.

I bought some full length Santini bib tights which have 'Windstopper' fabric on the front of the thighs and chest and a slightly 'fleecy' lycra on the back of the garment.

It keeps me comfortable down to 2 degrees centigrade and keeps out most of the rain.

I recently bought some addidas full length leg warmers. I have to say they are very good and keep your legs very warn. And only cost £17.99 got them from http://www.wiggle.com I definatly recommend them.

leg wramers are fine for the kind of weather we're having now but when it drops to 5° or less you'll need somethng extra to protect the nether regions. When it gets to -5° like it did in February this year cheap bibtights won't be enough. Fyi, Ribble are still selling Assos Airblock Bibtights for £59.

Any feedback on the Agreeable bib longs with leg warmers underneath? Does the fleeciness make a difference?

I generally go with shorts and warmers under thicker bib longs, but I'm thinking sartorially here ... club colours, innit.
