Im also fairly sure there were alot more than 8 guys ahead of me...

That was a great race, really good fun. I went off in the 3rd group with Keith and Steve B and we worked really hard. Were not many in the group working too hard, but we really did a good team effort. After a couple of laps we caught the earlier groups and rode through them. Pace kept high but then the Elite boyz caught us at the end of the 3rd lap and the pace picked up. The final lap was fast and furious.

Prior to the race I had said to Steve B that I would try to lead him out going down the hill and would peel off just before the final lump. I am useless on this lump so thought may as well try and get Steve up the front.

I was halfway down the peleton on the final descent towards the finish, I moved up and gave Steve the nod to latch on. I then had to chase down a mini break of 3 and get Steve up near the front. I managed to do this, but ran out of steam to help him any further as we hit the steeper section of the drag my legs fell off. Steve looked to be in a good position and thankfully managed to get a point, so it was worth it just about. It was Steve B's first proper on the road race.

Well done to all the accers out there, Paul T did well, getting dropped at least twice but putting in the effort to get back on both times. Also good to see Chloe giving it a good go and also Dan going with the 4th group, very brave (or stupid).
