[quote]Addiscombe Cycling Club's Tamar Collis was in record-breaking mood on the way to the women's title at the Southern Counties Cycling Union centenary 100-mile time trial. In hot and humid conditions, Collis stopped the clock in 4:34:00, a counties, course and event ladies record.
Keith Coffey, of Bec CC, won the men's race for a record sixth time. In doing so, he set a new course record of 3:48.35.
The team prize went to the Bec team of: Coffey, Shaun Kennedy (3:55.15) and James Hughes (4:01:17).
Ray Dare, of Kingston Phoenix Road Club, who had come out of retirement to ride the Centenary 100, was well rewarded when he broke the VTTA record for 82-year-olds with a time of 5:15:44.
In total nine Addiscombe riders finished the event. The fastest was George Brent, who completed the race in 4:11.05 to take 13th place and the slowest was Doug Shaw, who dragged himself over the line in 5:10.43, a personal best by 20 minutes.
