Well done!

Am I right in thinking the first part of the course was uphill which served Emma right (see avs):

Intermediate times at km 10.8

1 Emma Pooley (Great Britain) 20.46.99 (31.178 km/h)
2 Kristin Armstrong (United States) 0.03.58
3 Jeannie Longo-Ciprelli (France) 0.23.73

And there more flat/downhill:

Finish time

1 Kristin Armstrong (United States) 34.51.7 (40.459 km/h)
2 Emma Pooley (Great Britain) 0.24.3
3 Karin Thurig (Switzerland) 0.59.3
4 Jeannie Longo-Ciprelli (France) 1.00.9

So nice for her to have her day as she bust a gut for Nicole on Sunday. Brilliant, well done Miss P. 8) And an awesome result given the amount of downhill where any advantage could be lost by a featherweight.

As for busting a gut, did you see Nicole collapsed by the side of the barriers? There is no doubt she put her heart and soul into the whole thing...

Fantastic ride by Miss Pooley :D If her, Nicole and hopefully, Rebecca, Shanaze and Vicky P don't get more girlies on 2 wheels such that cycling clubs are awash with female cyclists then nothing wheel :D :D

PS I thought Emma Pooley was in her early thirties didn't realise she's only 25
