12 hour TT entries.

Are you thinking about starting racing? Ask about future events in here, find out what you can expect at them and who else is going so you can scrounge a lift off someone rather than riding the 30 miles to get there yourself!

[quote="Andrew G"]Judging by that saddle I think it might be cheerleading Sylv's after Jon  .

A couple of questions for those with experience of this madness:
1) Do I just hand in the form with the details of my support car & drivers when I sign on and collect my numbers?
2) If it rains (yes I know unlikely in the middle of this glorious summer we are enjoying  ) then I can't promise not to don a rain jacket. What's the score with this regarding the fact it'll cover up the race numbers?

Ta.

1) Yes.
2) ECCA also give you a frame number which you attach to your bike, and an additional rider number which you can pin to your rain jacket in advance.

If its raining then I would recommend fitting race blades to your bike as well. Keith and I used them last year and he looked spectacularly silly with disk wheel and mudguards...but they do stop you getting quite so cold and wet from the road spray.

I have a set if anyone wants to borrow them on the day.

Myself (and Mrs T) plus Sylv and Andrew are dining out at the Wok'n'grill, Cambridge Sat night - I'll book a table - is anyone else going to join us (5:30pm)?

I've had nothing at all in the post. Is there something I will need in what you got?

 , but the only thing extra was a form for the details of my support car. I'd give the organiser a call and let him know you've had nothing and ask about a form for the car. You'll probably be ablt to pick one up at the HQ for Jon/Mark.

Cheers. Also, I have old flexy number plates, I was thinking of taking them with a marker pen, and use them in case I need several jerseys, like a couple layers to start with. I'll ask, but do you know if it's "legal"?

The support vehicle form can be downloaded from the CTT website. I've just done it and filled it in with my car details and put Sylv on the form as the rider. I'll bring that with me on Sunday.

I think DIY numbers might be a bit dodgy as they're meant to conform to CTT regulations. However, I have a cunning plan... I've got our ACC set of numbers at home, so if I bring out the correct numbers for all our riders then you'll each have an extra spare number.

Sorted 8)

So, are we getting excited, and placing our bets;

Will George survive twelve hour seated "on the rivet"?
Will Sylv survive on a diet mainly of magic cake and pringles?
Will Paul survive the "all you can eat" chinese buffet from the previous evening?
Will Andrew survive, despite his claims of riding "for training", the pressure from his dad who did 242 miles in his days?
Will Rob survive staying overnight in a hut with Joyce on Saturday?
Will Keith C survive being thrown wet sponges at by Tamar?

(you might have missed a few email exchanges ...)

Whatever my mileage, the ride will bump for the very first time my daily average to over 30km, ever since I've been in the UK :)

...or whether his undercarriage can cope with perching on the tip of a saddle that long

"Magic cake", not too "magic" I hope.

100% natural ingredients - I'm riding back through Portobello market tonight :)
I will also pack a small flask of whisky, might give a boost for the last half hour.
