Das Lupine nightmare li-on, very schnell. And with £135 off due to 10% discount + Specialized refunding my broken 2 year old HRM to Evans :-). Battery is so tiny it can fit under your stem, and you can switch between 9W / 25W, or even anything in between. Not 100% sure how long battery lasts as i've read different figures in different places, will find out soon ...

Also stopped in Cyclesurgery riding back from Eastway with Aodan and found some old Machine Tech v-brakes for sale, I might try them on too.

Retro!

They had buckets of old Syncros quill stems in there.

Ok, ok, I get the message!

VERY nice lights. Probably won't need to bring mine if you're gonna be using the 35W setting...

Maybe.
I forgot to put my battery on to charge.
But if anybody else is playing out and I can escape early enough, then I'll come out.
7pm at ECBR for a 7:15pm departure? "Normal" route out to Rachel's DH and back OK?

i think i saw one planned for 8pm tonight on the dh forum, but there's so many posts there i don't even try and keep track.

my vistalights seem to have died last night, i thought it was the bulb but the battery has no output. good thing i got the lupines.

would you guys rather do 8pm in case we bump into the others?

OK, I can do 8pm, but I need to be home (in Bromley) for about 10:30pm, so back to Croydon by 10 would be good.

Well i called it the downhill forum but it's just another forum where people who do mostly downhill seem to be spending their whole days and talking bollocks. This includes Jason, the guy who was at East Croydon but didn't come to ride.

Dale, Chris and me met Tony "Twelve" and Curtis for a ride through pine woods, foxes woods, addington park, where Dale left us, then Twelve and Curtis cut short through gravel hill to meet Catherine, Jason, Hora and FG, and Chris and me carried on up Rachaels, selsdon park, croham hirst and back to east croydon for a couple pints before closing time.

Hora and FG had seemingly been drinking all afternoon and it was hard work making sense of anything they said, or to who they were saying it.

Chris and i also witnessed a spectacular car crash, literally meters away from us (Chris said he felt something flying past his face) at the NLA tower junction. An hour later the crashed cars were still there waiting to be towed away.

Sorry I couldn't make it - I had a plumbing crisis to sort out :(
One of our radiators had sprung a leak, and had to be isolated and drained.
Saturday morning will be taken up with buying, painting and installing a new one. So no road ride for me this week.
Should be out on Sunday - what tyres for avoiding car crashes?
