TT plans for the rest of the season

Are you thinking about starting racing? Ask about future events in here, find out what you can expect at them and who else is going so you can scrounge a lift off someone rather than riding the 30 miles to get there yourself!

TT plans for the rest of the season

Postby Dominic » Sun Aug 31, 2008 8:36 pm

Interested to find out what the rest of you are doing TT wise for the rest of the year. My plans seem to be after the Presidents 10:

20/09 - North Hampshire 25 H25/8
21/09 - Hounslow 25 H25/8
28/09 Epsom 25 G25/53

The Epsom CC event can be done solo or as a 2up TT.

I think that might be the end of racing for me, unless I can find a willing volunteer to drag me around the Redmon GP, me being an auld fella :D

As dictated by tradition, I'll be away for the Pres 10, yet to take part in that one. I may be around for the Epsom one - need to check diary and get finger out if appropriate. Other than that I may have another pop @ the Bec CC hill climb, but that'll be it. Back to the hamster wheel :(

20/09 Top secret 10
28/09 Today was a disaster, so I might have a go at the Epsom 25
No hillclimbs
19/10 Trying to inflict pain on PVT in the Redmon GP

6/9 - ACC 10
7/9 - SCCU 25
13/9 - President's 10 (fixed wheel, to scoot over to track champs afterwards)
20/9 - Festival 10 (twice)
12/10 - Bec Hill Climb (for fun and ego stroking)
19/10 - Redmon GP (pacing my Dad, bit of fun for both of us as we're going old school and both riding fixed wheel)

Had the Epsom 25 circled and then crossed out in the handbook :? , something lurking in the back of my brain (other than cobwebs) as a reason for this but can't remember what now. If it turns out it's free again then might do it depending on how the legs feel next weekend.

Yes Snoop it's only a 2-up and a specific one too. It's a Gentlemen's Grand Prix. This means one of you has to be a vet and gets paced round the course by a whippersnapper. In fact you can not ride it as a normal 2-up as they have a couple of spotters on course to check that the vet stays behind, there is a 200m board from the finish and the vet is allowed out of the slipstream at this point only so they can sprint for the line - assuming the pacer hasn't killed them by that stage :D .

It is a fantastic event on a nice course (I can give you the details if you enter) and I'd strongly recommend it if you can find yourself a pacer.

Snoop

Perhaps you didn`t receive my email, but do you fancy the Epsom event as a 2up. Might be a bit of fun.

Will understand if you don`t.

Can't find anything for the 28th so looks like whatever it was doesn't exist anymore.

2-up sounds fun and never done one before.

Mr. Ingram can I interest you in a non-aero fixed 2-up? Go on you know you want to

If not and Snoop can't make it for you either Terry, then I'll join you for a giggle.

Terry - I got your mail and sent a reply Monday. Looks like we're otherwise engaged but I hope to have a definite answer by the weekend. If I am free then I'd be v interested indeed. Let you know Sat.

Cheers - Snoop

September

7th SCCU 25
14th VTTA 50
21st ECCA 25
27th ECCA 10 ?
28th Epsom 25 ? 2UP?

October
19th Redmon 2UP

The ones with ? are still to be decided, I`ve done the Epsom event as a 2up ON 3 separate occassions coming second at the last attempt, I think, when I rode with Richard Viney narrowly missing out on a 57.

Mike can't make it, anyone else want to do a 2-up (doesn't have to be fixed wheel if that helps :D ).
