Do you need to have done an induction to enter the club champs? I rode on a track many moons ago, currently ride a fixie every day (have ridden it in group training rides too) and race a bit so I would presume i have all the necessary skills, it's just that i haven't actually ridden at HH.

I think it would only be essential if you have never ridden fixie or done through and off, but that said the arrangements for pulling over and getting back on do need to be practised, especially if you're preparing for the 2012 4-man pursuit. I don't know if the track will insist on some claim of experience or transferable skills but maybe this needs to be checked out to avoid disappointment.

In previous years, there has been no sign of anybody interfering with what we do, but it would be irresponsible for a novice to turn up and expect to race with others on the track.

As I mentioned, I have never done the HH track induction, a when i started racing there (1972  ) there was no such thing, and my experience has never been called into question.

I think we can safely rely on the honesty of Agreeables and if they can state that they are confident at riding in a bunch on a fixed wheel, then I see no reason why they cannot ride.

Ok, sounds good. We're nothing if not honest and agreeable :D

The three commandments:

1) Go anticlockwise.
2) Keep pedaling.
3) Check over your shoulder before swinging up the track.

Mark L (or whoever is organising this), just to let you know I was at the track this evening and when chatting to Dave Creasy and Pete Cattermole they said that they had not had any booking from Addiscombe, De Laune or Bec for racing on the afternoon of Saturday 13th. In fact this is the very time that VCL are now holding the postponed Grande Finale Track league meeting (which was called off yesterday due to bad weather).

You might want to check this.

Hi
Iwas at HH tonight for an induction session (and great fun it was too) and when I mentioned the event on the 13th the organisers had no record of it.

Just to add, the hire of the bikes at the track is free, zero, 0, nothing :D , so no excuses there either. Cost of induction is £3 though.
Steve

Assuming this is going through - Steve, do you know if this means we can hire the new Fuji bikes, or just the old ones like usually?

Sylv,

I dont think they will have any, as they are all taken by people hiring them for the year. You will probably end up with one of their regular bikes, which to be fair, are'nt that bad

Lets hope its still on

Saw Mark yesterday and he said as far as he knew yes, saw Keith Butler on my commute this morning and he's planning on being there for the Bec. Would be good to get a definite, definite though following Maria and Chris' comments from when they were there as I'm doing the President's 10 too.
