Saturday September 20th is the date

Circuit is here

HQ is here
here

Hall is available from 9:30am - 12:30pm. Changing facilities - no showers.

Snoop,
I have engaged Mrs T to cover signing-on. No-one competes WITHOUT signing on, and wearing a number provided. If not a BC member, ACC will cover the cost of a day licence. There is NO entry fee.

Some refreshments???? Any volunteers

I have employed the services of a very expensive Chief Commissaire - Guru P !!!!!! - so watch out, you may all find yourselves disqualified

We will need a lead car (and a commissaire's bike!!), 6 marshals (minimum) a lap board person and a judge or 2 at the finish.

Race detail

The circuit that we will be using is the Newchapel race circuit which is an approved BC circuit. However, it is a normal road, the roads are not closed to other road users so apply commonsense to any road "hazards". Normal road racing conditions apply. No crossing white lines unless you can see for a substantial distance ahead that it is clear etc

The first race will be 4th cats and novices and will include everyone the Chief Commissaire thinks should be there (no Grahame - don't even try it) and any appeals will be considered very unfairly unless folding stuff changes hands :P
It will be approximately 140km - just kidding - 5 laps, approx 30km, starting at 10:00am.

The next race will commence as soon as the first has finished, and is scheduled for 11:00am and will be 8 laps, finishing at approximately 12:00 and will be for everyone who is not in the first race. The winner will be presented with a huge shiny silver trophy with your name engraved upon it at a presentation coming soon to a hotel near you - Selsdon Park Hotel, Saturday 17 January 2009, along with untold riches purloined by a certain Welshman masquerading as a journalist.

For those that are peckish afterwards, the Golf Club positioned by the finish has a wide range of good food available.
Its on the road rather than a circuit this time so you TT boys have no excuses

How about I'm riding two 10s that day.

Hadn't realised / I'd forgotten what date this was going to be on until I'd already sent the entries in. A bit annoying (flat circuit too) but there you go, there's always next year.

Oh and don't forget Grahame who won the B race for novices/4th cats.

Once again Cycling Weekly will be providing a glittering prize list of cycling DVDs, Books, kit etc, etc but as usual if anyone can donate prizes it would be much appreciated. Let me know by PM if you can help

Despite being on the road the circuit is flatter than Hillingdon and less technical (if that's possible) so don't be put off (and its much closer so lets have a load of riders AND spectators out if possible). Anyone who wants to have a look at the course in advance post here and I'm sure one of the local chain-gangers like Marek or Keith, who use the circuit regularly, will offer to show you round and reveal their secret 'racing' lines :D

Afraid not but if folk go to Dennis Sackett's site then they can view the photos he took of last year's race (don't post the pictures for breach of photographer's copyright though). Both 10s are in the same event and it doesn't start until 2pm but I think trying to squeeze a road race in in the morning would be a tad foolish.

Left, left, left :D .
If memory serves from a PVT coaching session on it you just need to watch out for a bit of gravel on one of the bends and gurn like a nutter as you try in vain to hang on to the wheel in front :) .
and its much closer so lets have a load of riders AND spectators out if possible

...and then you can ride over to North Holmwood and watch a TT  .

Better than nothing!

Although the "big man" will insist he wasn't racing but merely "riding around"

Nice one Toks I'll be there

It doesn't actually say anywhere which circuit you're going to use, but by "flat", "non-technical", and "left, left, left" I guess it's the short Newchapel circuit?

We're not going to tell anyone 'til half way round the first lap.

On the format - It's usually two races - one for fast blokes and one for not so fast blokes. The only handicap is that me and Toks decide who goes in what race, this inevitably leads to at least one or two riders who we don't like getting thrown in with the fast guys - to avoid this, I'm open to bribery and cheques should be made out to H Williams at the usual address please. :D

Seriously though - as its local we'd like to get a lot more riders involved this year so if enough riders express an interest we could potentially have three groups? A woman's group? who knows?

Huw, presumably you will also be open to bribes from the not so fast blokes to move the almost fast blokes into the fast blokes group.

It's a win-win situation for you and Toks.
