London Grand Prix this Sunday...

Postby -Adam- » Thu Sep 04, 2008 4:42 pm

A few years ago I watched this race as a very new cyclist and thought it looked pretty cool as a young Mark Cavendish stormed over the line in 1st place.

Four years on Im riding it.

A mix of excitement and downright nervousness is beginning to plague me. It is without a doubt the biggest race of my racing career so far. The actual race itself doesn't scare me, but the weather forecast and the 80+ rider field do (on a 1 mile long circuit).

So if your at a loose end on Sunday morning at 10.30 am, please come along and shout abuse!

I was just looking at the info on the website for this

There are a lot of Elites Adam! Good luck

I think I will ride and leave bike somewhere safe (at work) 1 mile from the circuit, armed with camera, in time for the 10.30 start.

I like the way you keep referring to your "career"Adam

Racing with the rest of the SCCU posse in the am so won't be able to see your race. Good luck and we'll all be there in time to enjoy the drinks you're buying in celebration :D .

Good luck Adam even though you're not ACC - I see Lee Smith is riding, so you shouldn't be last :!:

I had my fair share of E12 racing a few years ago, and it was very unpleasant. Enjoy the pain.

Of all the days to arrange to see my Father in law - bad planning or what

Dude you'll be fine. You looked so composed and strong at the Beach Head. 8) 8) Yes there's lots of big hitters on the start list but you've got nothing to be afraid of. Remember if you're not thinking positively about this race you're thinking negatively about it. When push comes to shove your mind ultimately determines all your physical actions. Be positive mate and you'll be fine :D

...and scandalously Marky Mark and his daughter's nonchalant wandering about behind the woman with the mike (not Ingram) at the Tower didn't make it to the programme :( . Don't worry folks there is photographic evidence which I'm sure Marky will post.

Nice day, nice beer, nice chat, nice fast racing. Quite nice really.

Thanks to fellow Agreeables (Chloe etc) we (me wife and friends) gave you some extra shout out support - well done for keeping in the race. We kept cheering more as one after anothe elite riders dropped out so top marks to you!

Great day was had by all (bumping into Marky Mark & family plus Marco later on as well). Fantastic to see 2 cracking races on proper closed roads in the UK (just need to up the beer quotient to give it a proper 'Flandrian' feel!)

Won't be around for a couple of weeks as of to Murcia (need to show Valverde how to get up his home town hills in a 16s stylee!!!!). Will be at last stage of Vuelta so keep eyes open for an ACC top and cap once again in the crowd!

Top racing once again!
