Surrey League - Rusper 2/3 - 7th Sept

Are you thinking about starting racing? Ask about future events in here, find out what you can expect at them and who else is going so you can scrounge a lift off someone rather than riding the 30 miles to get there yourself!

Anyone else planning to do this? Nice and local.

Regional B 3rd - 57miles - 09:30
Regional A 2nd/3rd - 76miles - 13:30

I'll probably take the easier option and do the early one

Nice one Dan, do you know the course? I assume some of it must be similar to the CR?
.... do you know the course?

From the SL website http://www.surreyleague.co.uk/courses/rusper.htm:

Course Details: From Rusper go North along Cophatch Road/Rusper Road/Village Street. Turn left (M) into Trig Street. Turn left (M) into Vicarage Lane. Turn left (M) into The Street/Wolves Hill. Bear left (M) at roundabout (A24) and immediately left again (M) into Rusper Road/Cowix Road. Turn left (M) into Cophatch Road to complete circuit.

Lap Distance: 9.4 miles – 15.0 kilometres.
.... similar to the CR?

The Club Run uses Rusper Road, but in the opposite direction.

Marek will probably attack on lap one. He can't help it its in his genes. As long as one of us gets in the break - its all good. Just don't get overzealous and tow chasers or worst still the bunch up to the break that has your team mate(s) in. One of the Norwood Paragon boys did it when we started abreak at Ockley. It was so funny watching him getting told off by one of his team mates at the end  . Its always hard to make plans Andy cause they're often scuppered by differing fitness levels, racing experience, how much work you've done in the race, confidence etc etc

Haha, classic schoolboy error by NP.

Fair points on the rest, i guess it's a bit of a lottery. Just getting a bit excited :D

Just a note - the Surrey League Rules forbid team "blocking" tactics.

Nothing wrong with sitting at the back if you want - if ACC riders are up the road, but you should not actively disrupt the race.

Do you know if there are still any spaces on the afternoon race and can I sign up on the day?
