National Middle Distance Tri ACC 2nd claim silver

Postby Jim B » Mon Sep 08, 2008 6:22 pm

Just to prove the training group works, I managed a silver medal in my age group and 17th overall at the Nationals on Saturday.
Did my usual impression of a cyclist pretending to be a swimmer, but made up for it on the 80km bike and held on through the run.
Really pleased especially as I was lying in East Surrey A & E 6 months ago with head injuries and have suffered with all manner of related ailments.

You will now find me lurking at the back of the 17s eating a Mars bar.

Many thanks to all the people who've made the training group such bl**dy hard work this year.

Nice one Jim, looks like I will have to try the training group over the winter.

When will you be doing a 100 in preparation for your Ironman :?:

Well done Jim. I knew you were a classy TT-er (and generous in loaning if rear wheels  ) but didn't know you were so good as those other funny things that get in the way of a good bike ride in a triathlon.

You've got to hand it to Jim, he looks damn good for an 82 year old doesn't he?

Oh hang on, I'm getting my Jims mixed up. Well done Jim, tip top result.

LOL :D .

Carl,
It was the Vitruvian around Rutland Water in Leicestershire. Is it Rimini you are off to this month?

May try Ironman one day, but could probably live without doing a 100 for a while yet given my experience of a 50!
