Huw said [quote]breakfast number two brought me round

I often have lunch number two. Most enjoyable extension of lunch number one. Normally around 4pm.

Like Huw, I must have hobbit blood. Without the hairy toes

Whats the opposite of commutopia ? After missing a few commutes at the end of last week I got the full blast of the post holiday traffic today. Bike went down in Mitcham Common traying to avoid glass on the track, then nearly got knocked off twice, once at a roundabout in Greenwich village by somone who did not know to give way to the right and then by someone fed up with waiting in the traffic and decided to U-turn round as I was coming up the outside by Dulwich college. Maybe after a few weeks of nice empty roads I just need to get the commuting war head on again.

All my plain white ones were in the wash. I was actually wearing my Campag Team socks, which are white with a blue top. Because they're the very short type though, I can understand how Jon might not have spotted the nuances of their design.

At least they weren't black  .

Stop ganging up on me. I know you're just jealous.

It says on the label:

If I've understood this correctly, your hip is now on your inner thigh. Sounds as if it's you that needs the once over

[quote="Sean Hogan - 何祥"]Well that was nice. Rode in today sans helmet as one is yet to be purchased and took it alot more slowly as a result.

:? err, why?
How big is your head :D , I have a Specialized Aurora, in Medium I think, but my head isn't specialized shaped. Actually if anyone wants it then you're welcome to it. It's blue, hardly been worn, and is still good for a couple of years as I only got it about a year ago.

Been a bit more bracing this week, been having to dig out the long sleeves and 3/4s.

Andrew, if Sean doesn't take you up on your offer, might I? Mrs A is soon to take to the roads once more and, as you may recall, needs a new noggin protection solution.

There's definitely a nip in the air, but I had to make an unscheduled stop in Richmond Park today to shed my jacket - I was boiling in the bag.

Re: Titfer - of course.

It warms up a bit on the ride in but I find there is an invisible curtain by Dulwich picture gallery. London side of it is fine, but home side of it is always noticably chillier. Sometimes it's quite strange. It's like a line in the road that you cross where it's a couple of degrees colder in the space of 10 metres. Spooky.

Just proves the "compensation" theory that (and here I generalise) you take more risks wearing a helmet on the basis that you feel safe, and why in Australia with compulsory helmet wearing, the accident rate has gone up.

Yep, lower number of riders but a higher instance of accidents - great

Talking of helmets - my friend Ian still has his helmet plus pod for sale - go on give him a ring, on 020 8642 7961

NB if the phone goes through to the BT woman don't leave a message - it's a sympton that his phone isn't working properly - it should be his own voicemail :?
