I stumbled over this and it made me laugh a lot, so thought I'd stick it here. PVT hasn't changed one bit has he  .

(BTW Chris/Paul, what year was this?)
That is probably 2001

Quite so.

It was sooooooooooo cold when Chris punctured at the top of Botley Hill that he couldn't get thetyre back on, but I managed to do it for him.
Instead of sensibly riding the 6 or 7 miles home, we then rode back to Horton Kirby so that we could get our certificate - and the descent to Westerham was FREEEEEEEZING.

Oh what fun we had..... :D

Shurely the need to collect the car was greater than certificate collection?

Between chuckles it did strike me that you'd gone over to Horton Kirby to do a ride that took you almost back home (Botley), and then away again  .

That was Chris's car, and we could have driven over go get it, but that's not important right now....and don't call me "Shurely"

There's a lot more stuff hidden on the site

From memory - another of Chris' excellent reports on the Herne Hill track, downhill Jason's "trail tales" (the one with the drawing of the Steps of Death!!) and Jame's Cushtie's epic reports on the 24h races.

Steve Dennis' write-ups from the same period are good too.
