[quote="Daniel Gee"]I have heard that the more you cycle the more likely it is to become an issue
This is indeed a fact. I did a 70 mile ride today, all was well till my misses noticed that and I quote 'the one that sticks out between the two long things at the front looks a bit soft'. Bemused I asked her to show me and low and behold she was right, it really was soft. I asked her to try pumping it to see if went hard but that failed.
This left me no alternative but to strip off the rubber, pull out the soft offending article and put it into a bowl of cold water. This seemed to have the opposite effect to which I had hoped for and it just proceeded to go even softer. It was then I noticed a small hole which was leaking, 'quick' I said, 'pass me a patch to stop it leaking'. 'Will it be safe to make it go hard again and put it back in' asked Mrs Loony. 'Only one way to find out love' I replied. Having put the soft thing back in the rubber I can confirm after much huffing and puffing from Mrs Loony its now hard again and is ready for another good hard ride.
