good point big M but I doubt you'll be sufficiently unrecognisable.

I believe that I will be in the B race odds and sods Colnago team - maybe Brian will join me there.

Well done on T of K Marek - I missed it this year but will do Falling Leaves as my final and only second sportive of the year!

On general point, I have been surprised at the high polemic generated by this thread - I do hope that Saturday's ride will be an 'agreeable' experience with turns taken at the front and good humour all round - BTW can anybody tell me what counts for an 'attack' in cycle racing?

I haven't been surprised by the "high polemic" (wow Alan I feel like I'm back at university). People can race however they chose to on saturday (as long as they don't endanger themselves or others)after all is is a race. I can still remember you dipping your toes into competitive racing a couple of years back so you're not getting away with that 'hey chaps can we possibly make it a social ride' nonsense on here :wink: :D .You'll all be wearing numbers by the way, none of you look alike and interstingly enough we're only interested in the first 3-5 who cross the line which makes judging easier :D :D

Toks, never be afraid to set high standards of authorship among corresponents on these pages. Of course we'll all be riding in a mutually supportive way - anyone know where to find a tongue in cheek smiley?

Letting the tyres down of everyone who may possibly beat you just before the start in the best possible attempt to win.

That means everyone in the B race better:

- Bring some slime?
- Bring some of those quick inflate cannisters
- Let mine down first so i'm too busy with the smallest pump in the world trying to blow mine up leaving no time to let yours down

a) Can I enter on the day? There's a chance I might be able to get down there to defend my B-race 4th place from last year.

b) I don't need a racing licence for this, do I?

d) There's no c)

There's the old trick of grabbing someone's shorts at the back and pulling them so that they're caught under the saddle - they are then unable to get out of the saddle to sprint :shock:

My favourite is the Tom Steels hurl-your-bidon-at-a-fellow-sprinter-in-the-middle-of-a-bunch-gallop tactic.

[quote="Marek"]
Is the race a particular distance or is it just based on time?

Cheers

Marek....

Just for you Marek...

[quote="mprpvt"]It will be approximately 140km - just kidding - 5 laps, approx 30km, starting at 10:00am.

The next race will commence as soon as the first has finished, and is scheduled for 11:00am and will be 8 laps,

I have been trying to keep up with the posts, but still have some to go....Anyone who turns up can ride - it makes it easier though if I know beforehand to get the signing-on sheets sorted.
