Christmas Period

Postby jackiems » Tue Dec 28, 2004 12:29 pm

I hope everyone had a good Christmas and didn't overdulge too much...unlike me!

There was mention of there being a club run every day over the Christmas period. Is this correct and if so, is there a ride planned on 30th? I assume if there is that it will be at CSS at approx 8.30-9am.

Desperate to get out on the bike on a proper ride so if there is something going on (which isn't too fast i.e. a reasonable 17mph would be good) then please let me know.

Many thanks,

Jackie

Hi Jackie,
I am planning to ride every day this week but will wait till the frost has melted, so plan to leave Merstham Feathers pub around 10.30 I think Nick Smith will be riding as well steady miles not speed ride. Not club route but similar distance.

I have PM you my mobile number. Let me know if you want to meet up

Out again after Christmas

Postby Alan M » Tue Dec 28, 2004 10:46 pm

Went out today. (Tuesday). just on spec. Got to CS by 9.15. 4 others joined by 9.30 and we pushed off for Wear Street and Oakley by 9.30 and 2 others joined on the way. They were mostly 2nd and 3rd cat on winter training so I felt justified in draughting them most of the way. The ride was brilliant and I got to try out my new optilab photchromatic 'sprints' - they darkened up nicely in the bright sunlight so no more decisions on whether to wear prescription clear or sunglasses. Such luxury. 2 of us stopped off in Reigate on the way back and added to the continental ambience of cafe rouge - but they charged us anyway! I aim to be out again on Thursday as long there is no ice and frost. Hope to see anybody who is there but I think 9.30 is a realistic lift off time. 8)

Good wishes

Ian and Alan,

Many thanks for your responses.

I reckon if the weather isn't too icy, I'll turn up to Coulsdon South at 9.15-9.30ish and see who turns up.

Ian - I'm afraid I didn't manage to get hold of your mobile number which is the reason for not calling you. If you're out tomorrow - see you there!

Many thanks again,

Jackie
