Saddle position

Postby simonfrench » Wed Dec 29, 2004 6:56 pm

New bike, so I'm experimenting with forward-aft saddle position and bar vs. seat height. There seem to be so many old wives tales out there I'd appreciate a pointer or your opinions on either subject.

Cheers, and an agreeable new year to you all.

There was an interesting article on the sheldonbrown.com web site.
If not on the site, there may be a link to it.

It was called 'The myth of KOPS' (knee over pedal spindle) and was written by Keith Bontrager.

There are so many variables that affect the position, it may be best to start with the seat post clamp in the middle of the saddle rails.

Ride the bike and adjust it until it feels right.
